I'm Trackable!

Well, my Alpha got me a geocaching.com trackable tag, so now I'm "trackable!"

Geocachers who find me can log their find here.
The trackable tag came in a package like this:

Alpha-Henry put it on for me! Here's a photo of it on my harness:

There is a number on the other side of the tag. In order for people to log that they found me, they need to sign in (or sign up - basic membership is free) on geocaching.com and then they can put the number on the back of the tag into the website.
So, check back at this link every now and then and hopefully you'll be able to see who found me!

Welcome Home Party!

When Alpha-Henry and Ruth came home from Jon and Abby's wedding the other day, I just had to throw a welcome home party! I was SO excited!  The "pack" is back together again! At least part of it.

Alpha-Henry has a card that reads "Dear Lord, please help me be the kind of person my dog thinks I am."   He remembered that when he saw how happy I was to see them!

Geocaching!

Today, for our first time, My Alphas and I created a geocaching team (geocaching.com) and went searching. We looked for 5 and found all 5! It was lots if fun! It was sort of like a treasure hunt! I think we'll be doing this more! I'm hoping we can find one with dog treats!

Hot Dog!

Why is it that everyone is always calling us dachshunds "hot dogs" and "wiener dogs?"

Once when I was taking Alpha-Henry for a walk, a little boy was walking by with his family. He was laughing and saying "Mommy, mommy, look at the wiener dog!" We'll, at least I made him happy!

Now, I for one really like hot dogs. They sure are tasty! But, why should we be compared to food?
I know that it's because we're long in the body that we're compared to hot dogs.

Yet, it seems to me that we are a distinguished dog breed and we should be compared to something more dignified. Don't you agree?

So, I've been thinking about something dignified and long in the body.

I've got it! I have just the right idea!

I suggest that from now on, people should use the better nickname of "stretch limousine!"

I think that's very fitting, don't you?

Then children would say "Mommy, mommy, look at that dog! Why it looks as dignified as a stretch limousine! A limousine that would carry a bride to a wedding!"

Ok, ok! Maybe, "hot dog" just works better!

I Love Snow and Sled Riding!

I love it when I get to go outside. And, I love it when I get to go in the snow. I always keep my fur coat on, so the cold doesn't bother me all that much!

Snow is fun!
I convinced Alpha-Henry to take me sled riding.
I also got to roll around in the snow and bark at the neighbor dogs in the snow.

And, here I am rolling in the snow!  Oh, it's like a back rub! Alphas like to make snow angels, I guess you could say I'm trying to make a "Snow dog angel" here!

Here I am barking at the neighbor dogs. I keep asking them to come out and play, but they don't always come out.

Stairs, tilting head, and Greenie Bones

Someone mentioned to Henry-Alpha lately that they liked my special doggy stairs so I thought I'd show you a photo of me on them.
Also, after I had these photos taken, Henry-Alpha started talking to me about things I like. It always makes me tilt my head one way or the other. But, when he mentioned Greenies, I was off to go get one!
